  • Look east and west, then north and south
The answers meet beneath one roof

From dry lands far beyond the horizon
To work born closer to this ground,
    Woven stories gather here.

    They rest beneath your feet,
    Climb your walls,
Or drape across a waiting chair.

Don’t be fooled by jade reaching high—
On Sundays, the floor makes room to move.

  • You’ll find no tables waiting here,
    Yet many meals begin;
With bottles, blends, and quiet heat,
And tools to whisk or spin.
A hint of sweet, a flick of flame,
A cup to hold, a knife to tame—
Seek the shop that feeds the mind
    Before the stomach ever does.

  • It has found new walls more than once,
Yet the welcome feels the same.

    Color fills the room.
Music hums on a steady night.

    Coconut and sesame.
    Papaya and jasmine

    Some gather at tables.
Others carry warmth back out the door.

People leave full in more ways than one

Find the place where the Mekong meets the Arkansas.

  • I hold old voices that no longer ring,
A booth that remembers but says nothing.
Coins change hands, and arrows find their mark,
As games unfold when evening turns to dark.
    Glasses gather where stories spill,
While music drifts and time stands still.
Seek the house where pastimes convene,
And nights linger longer than they seem.

  • When seasons grow tense and the air feels aware,
Care is taken before sparks touch the air.

    They map where you wander
    And where you may stay—
    From trails through the trees
    To camps tucked away.

    Some fires are planned.
    Some fires are stopped.
Some wood may be gathered, if permits are sought.

Where care for the land wears boots.

  • I help things travel
    Far from here,
    And witness names
    When they must appear.

    Copies multiply.
    Images stand tall.

    Jackets arrive road-worn,
    Return ready for town.

    And a watchful four-legged greeter
    Sits ready at the door.
